The Hateful Eight roadshow ticket sales are open for the US and Canada
While the rest of the world is still scrambling to find reliable info on which theaters might show an actual 70mm version of Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight roadshow version (or at least its digital counterpart), the Weinstein Company have opened the official USA and Canada ticket sale directory on the official website. 100 screens will show the 70mm roadshow version north of the Rio Grande so to say, and it’s safe to assume that most have already sold out, so get your tickets now.

According to the press release, beginning Christmas Day, The Hateful Eight will screen in 70mm in the US locations: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Houston, Detroit, Phoenix, Seattle, Tampa, Minneapolis, Denver, Miami, Cleveland, Orlando, Sacramento, St. Louis, Portland, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Baltimore, San Diego, Nashville, Kansas City, San Antonio, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Austin, New Orleans, Providence, Knoxville, Santa Barbara, and in Canada: Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

To promote the 70mm roadshow release, Tarantino and TWC have partnered for “12 Days of Hateful Eight roadshow Giveaways,” with prizes, memorabilia and “once-in-a-lifetime experiences” given away to advance ticket purchasers each day until the Christmas release (according to deadline.com).
Also going on sale at the end of this week is the official original soundtrack for The Hateful Eight, scored by Ennio Morricone.

If seeing it in Dallas, avoid the AMC Northpark presentation! They placed it on a disappointingly small screen (because Star Wars)! I hear the Cinemark West Plano has it on a more appropriately sized screen.
***Update: I heard from friends who saw it at Plano West that the screen size was disappointing as well.
The film is great enough to surpass this initial disappointment, but it does make me wonder what impression of 70mm projection these small screens are leaving with first-timers!
