A few weeks ago we wrote at length about the amazing UK release of True Romance, and now we have the pleasure of writing about the world-wide release of Inglourious Basterds on 4K Ultra HD BluRay, as now most of the details (and even some early reviews) have emerged.

It won’t arrive on the exact same day, but Universal is releasing this in most major markets at the end of October, with some minor modifications (e.g. “digital code” isn’t really a thing outside the USA), but the specs will mostly be the same. So the following are the baseline, no guarantee that the disc that arrives in your country is exactly the same. The ulimate overview can be found here.

The following extras will be included (variations may apply), some or most of them have been included on previous BluRay releases:

  • Extended & Alternate Scenes
  • Roundtable Discussion with Quentin Tarantino, Brad Pitt and Elvis Mitchell;
  • The New York Times Talk
  • Nation’s Pride – full feature
  • The Making of Nation’s Pride
  • The Original Inglourious Basterds
  • A Conversation with Rod Taylor;
  • Rod Taylor On Victoria Bitter
  • Quentin Tarantino’s Camera Angel
  • Hi Sallys
  • Film Poster Gallery Tour with Elvis Mitchell
  • Inglourious Basterds Poster Gallery
  • Trailers
  • Killin’ Nazi’s Trivia Challenge

These are the specs more or less (for those still unfamiliar with UltraHD-BluRay: these have no region code lock, but make sure the disc you import has the language tracks or subtitles you requrie):

  • 4K UltraHD Bluray
  • Some territories: also regular BluRay included (USA: also a digital code to downlaod the movie for your computer)
  • HDR10+
  • 2.40:1 in UltraHD resolution, sourced from same 2K master as BluRay
  • English DTS-HD MA 5.1 (Canada: also French and Spanish; Italy: Italian; Germany: German; etc..). Some territories had a Dolby Atmos or TrueHD 7.1 track announced but these listings have already been corrected, reviews indicate these are the same audio tracks as on the BluRay.

This article shows just some of the cover designs or package variations, more can be found here.

In some regions, there will be collector’s editions, e.g. in the UK or Italy, some of them being shop exclusives.
