Kerry Washington, RZA, & LaPaglia in Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino has found his Broomhilda, and this confirms rumors that have been circulating for a few weeks now. Kerry Washington will play Broomhilda, the wife of Django (played by Jamie Foxx) in Django Unchained. She is joining a diverse cast: Just this week we hear that the RZA, Anthony LaPaglia as well as Misty Upham will join the project, which has already lined up Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo diCaprio and probably Kurt Russel.

We are slowly filling our Cast&Credits page in The Archives, as more and more casting info comes in. The movie is slated to start production soon in and around New Orleans, and then moving on to a few other locations. We will put together an overview of all the characters and actors/actresses very soon. While no confirmation has yet been made public as to whether Kurt Russel will officially join the project for the role originally assigned to Kevin Costner, we haven’t heard anything to the contrary either. The cast looks mighty impressive, and there is still a whole bunch of roles that aren’t cast yet.

The RZA is still working to finish The Man with the Iron Fists, his kung fu movie starring Russel Crowe, Pam Grier etc, which might be released sometime next year. We’ll keep you posted.
