Django Unchained casting update
The big news of the last few days is, that Kevin Costner – as much as I would have loved to see him in it – is out (due to scheduling conflicts) of Django Unchained, which is currently in pre-production, and Kurt Russell is in talks to replace him. Quentin Tarantino also drew some additional talent to his southern. Laura Cayouette (Kill Bill, Hell Ride), Dennis Christopher (Deadwood) and Gerald McRaney (also Deadwood) will be joining and already impressive cast that includes Jamie Foxx as the titular Django, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo diCaprio. Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire) who lost out for the lead role, says he might eventually be in the movie as well. Kerry Washington (Ray) and Zoe Bell are also attached. Update: Reportedly, M.C. Gainey is also in talks to play a baddie in the movie.
Waltz, who won an Academy Award for his role as the evil Nazi Col. Landa in Inglourious Basterds, was reportedly injured training for the role. The movie is about to start principal photography very soon, we will keep you posted.
