Killshot riding back on Rourke’s Oscar vehicle?

Killshot is not dead. Along with Darren Aronofsky‘s critically acclaimed The Wrestler, which also stars Mickey Rourke and is toutet an Oscar contender, Killshot will also finally be released next year, after standing by for years now! Killshot stars Mickey Rourke, Diane Lane, Thomas Jane, Rosario Dawson, Joseph-Gordon Levitt and Johnny Knoxville. Two posters have now been released (click here), a sign that marketing for the film is slowly gaining speed. I’m happy about that not only because I felt bad for this movie all along but also because this will be Rourke’s 2009 double knock-out punch. Quentin Tarantino had been onboard this project as a producer for some time, but at this point he is no longer associated with the film anymore. The film stars Lane and Jane as a couple witnessing a crime and then being targets for murder themselves, while in a witness protection program. The movie’s release had been postponed multiple times over the last 3 years. Click here to watch an early trailer (it still sais “from executive producer Quentin Tarantino” there). Thanks to Joblo/Impawards. You can head over to Fandango to check showtimes for Killshot and get tickets for this movie as soon as available. UPDATE: Quentin Tarantino is no longer associated with the movie. This website will continue to report important updates on this film out of appreciation and curiosity for the project but it will no longer carry the weight it would have carried as an entry in Q’s producer filmography.
