Killshot not dead yet

Killshot is one of the lesser discussed films of the recent years, even though its story is very interesting, mostly because the film hasn’t been released yet, although it is about 3 years old already. The project dates back to Miramax years and was one title of many Elmore Leonard novels that were purchased by the Weinsteins. At one point Quentin Tarantino has even set to play one of the major roles in the film. In 2006, the movie was made, with Mickey Rourke, Diane Lane and Rosario Dawson, among other good Hollywood names. The movie needed a few rewrites but boasts lots of talent. It never got released, it was pushed back again and again. Now the LA Times, in a very much recommended article sheds some light on the development of the film and writes that it might hit theaters in 2009 after all. Tarantino is executive producer of the film. You can find a trailer on youtube. Maybe Rourke’s success with critics for his film The Wrestler helped some?
