The Whole Bloody Affair
From The Quentin Tarantino Archives
Term that has been used by the press and Tarantino for the integral version of Kill Bill. That version premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 and is yet awaiting wide release. It is comprised of both Volumes of Kill Bill, plus material that is yet missing from the US and international versions. Slight alterations as to the sequence of the story parts can be assumed, as the cliffhanger ending after Volume 1 will be redundant.
It has also been called the "version integrale", especially in the french press.
Empire Online was one of the few online magazines that provide a review of the uncut Kill Bill. The version, that was shown in Cannes, combines both Volumes as one film.
Some changes, according to EO:
- No "klingon proverb" quote. Instead a dedication
- HOBL fight massacre in color, slightly differently cut
- gorier anime scenes
- various other scenes slightly longer
- Sofie Fatale loses more limbs
- no "baby" cliffhanger ending
- short (music-accompanied) break between two parts
- Volume 2 is not different
More info to follow soon.
