Overview

This is NOT a remake of the 1977 Italian war movie Quel Maledetto Treno Blindato aka Inglorious Bastards but it is partly a homage to it (as far as the same title) and various other American and Italian "men on a mission" World War II movies like The Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, The Dirty Dozen and Five For Hell. It is also heavily influenced by French New Wave cinema and Spaghetti Westerns.

The film is set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II and centers around a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" who are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.
