The Django Unchained soundtrack listing has come out, and not only that, there’s also a nice foreword by Quentin Tarantino himself, explaining quite a novelty in the Tarantinoverse: original contributions. This website has previously broken soundtrack news, if you remember the Hell Ride track listing – a soundtrack which is not available for purchase to date. We apologize for the delay this time, but due to this website being run from a different timezone, …

Inglourious Basterds is here (opening in the US friday, in Germany tomorrow, in France today), and oh boy will it be Inglourious to see it again. Quentin was on Letterman (who would rather have had Brad Pitt) yesterday (click here for a video) and I enjoyed that quite a bit. There’s a little review of the film on thestarpress.com, and a very negative one (if you like to read that stuff) on …

Five days until the Inglourious Basterds premiere, and the french really are gearing up for this. From the character posters hanging down the Riz Carlton in Cannes, to the amazing article in LeMonde that you should read if you are francophone, to the official press kit (i.e. the production notes) that is – yet – only available in french, on the Festival’s website. Aside from the usual comprehensive information these press kits reveal (click …

You’ve heard about it, you might’ve even watched it (unlike me), and from what I’m seeing now on YouTube it was probably lots of fun, with Quentin probably having had the most fun. Quentin Tarantino was on American Idol this week, mentoring, as they call it, the contestants on their performances of movie soundtracks. Well who better than Quentin, the master of movie soundtracks. MTV has a live blog of the performances (click) and …

A couple of days after we reported that Ennio Morricone is in talks to score Inglourious Basterds, Variety now posts some quotes by ‘il maestro’ about the deal. They quote the master saying that “[Tarantino] has to deliver it by the end of April in time for Cannes [which] doesn’t leave me enough time to do the music. Either I start working on it before he stops shooting — after we discuss it together …

We are hereby asking all of you readers out there to fasten your seat belts, tighten your belts and close your zippers, remove all breakable objects to a safe distance and close all doors and windows. Take a deep breath, calm down. Ready?
According to Italy Global Nation (IGN), none other than – and bear with me now, please don’t faint, dear readers – Ennio Morricone, ‘il maestro’ himself, has agreed to create the score …

Usually, you’d see the soundtrack CD of a new movie in stores weeks before the movie comes out. That is – unfortunately – not the case with Hell Ride. A deal with Decca Records seems not to have translated into available Amazon pre-orders of any sort yet. But there’s hope. The film is already listed on DVD, and it is now hitting Europe (going directly to DVD in Sweden on August 27 already, followed …

Someone was kind enough to post a link in our message boards (generally always a good idea, by the way) and point my attention to a really cool music blog called Aquarium Drunkard (weird name, but great blog). They have a series called Soundtrack Enthusiast, and one of their most recent entries is about Tarantino’s soundtrack, specifically the female contributions. Head over to their site (LINK ) and check it out, they offer a …
