I’m a big fan of Wired magazine, personally. Not because I’m a tech nerd, but because it’s a smart publication with entertaining and informative articles about aspects of our modern society that are relevant, even though at the time of publication we might not quite believe it yet. And applause to their latest concoction, which they’ve titled “New Rules for Highly Evolved Humans“, a funny little index of advice from such highly evolved people …

Exciting times, my friends! Inglourious Basterds is only a few weeks away. Monday will actually be the premiere in Stockholm (Sweden), as far as my sources tell me, and July will see a few more European (gala) premieres. So expect lots of pictures, reviews and gossip. We have actually started to compile a little calendar with opening dates and premieres, which we ask you to help us improve. If we have wrong dates listed, …

“A Basterd’s work is never done” exlaims the new poster for Inglourious Basterds that just premiered internet-wise on Yahoo Movies. It shows Brad Pitt‘s Aldo Raine on a pile of dead Nazi soldiers. Click here to check it out.
UPDATE: For your reading pleasure, Variety has a full-on Q&A with the man himself! Quentin talks a lot about the movie, why its actually a minute longer than the version shown in Cannes and his take …

The Weinstein Company is apparently going to give a couple of thousand (or million?) UFC fans the Basterd treatment. According to reports, they have teamed up with the pay-TV fighting event and will show footage from Inglourious Basterds there, you can read more here.
On a different note, Quentin Tarantino will attend the upcoming Melbourne Film Festival (MIFF). A no-brainer of course, the self-declared fan of Ozploitation cinema can hardly pass on this opportunity. On …

Who’s a Basterd? By way of Empire magazine, the latest issue of which (theyr August 2009 issue, should hit the news stands in the UK this weekend) is a must own for every fan since it will feature a huge Inglourious Basterds section I’m told (interviews, pictures, reviews…), we get a look at the new European (UK/English) character posters of Inglourious Basterds. Those are in the style of the posters we’ve seen hitting the …

IF YOU NEED HEROES, SEND IN THE BASTERDS! Woah, I am so happy now. I’ve been waiting for an international trailer of Inglourious Basterds to come out for a long time, most of all because I love trailers that show more names other than Brad Pitt‘s, but also because I love watching different trailers tailored to different audiences. So below is the international English-language trailer (with Serbian subtitles for now) which I presume will …

MTV has a nice little blog post about Eli Roth, Inglourious Basterds and a few background tidbits, you should click HERE and read it. Oh and just to make sure, you should’ve read the head-honcho’s final words on all the Basterds rumors RIGHT HERE also. And yeah I mean Harvey Weinstein :)

If you missed our little update, the last video that hit was the TV spot, and now Fandango as announced premiered the theatrical trailer for Inglourious Basterds on their website. I don’t know what the deal is with their website, but the video wouldn’t play for me well. Click here to go there (HD version). I’m hoping for someone to put it up on YouTube. You can watch a low-res version right here.
Update: The …

Thanks to each and everyone of you who emailed us today about the Inglourious Basterds theatrical trailer hitting the net (Update: it’s not the theatrical trailer). I was of course divorced from my laptop otherwise you’d be reading this way sooner. So the time has finally arrived, here’s the new TV spot, feel free to set YouTube to auto-repeat. We STRONGLY suggest watching it in high-definition RIGHT HERE (embedding of that wasn’t working), a …

ET has done it again. Our least favorite tv show in the world scored another first look at Inglourious Basterds footage which might in the end be the theatrical trailer in some shape or form. Click below to check it out, or wait a week or so until a version hits that doesn’t have all the ET goo all over it :)

Thanks to Rama’s Screen for the heads up.

So here we go fellas, it continues…. Inglourious Basterds posters from Italy, Spain, France and the UK have hit the net and more are probably to come, click the poster below to get to our poster overview. It’s good to see Universal Pictures give the movie posters sort of a classic look, however personally I neither like the taglines nor the front-center photoshop cut-outs of the three characters… We hope to get higher quality …

We’ve been a bit quiet lately, and yes while there was stuff out there that I could’ve easily written about, I was a bit busy with other things, which gave you lots of opportunity to dive into our Forums, read up on Spaghetti Westerns or discover the Deuce. Or do more important things. But if you rather have your dose of Inglourious Basterds on a daily basis, with some french dressing and curly fries, …

Between now and the theatrical release of Inglourious Basterds (click here) in August, you’ll have enough time to catch up on your Macaroni Combat education. That’s right, you heard me, Macaroni Combat, not Spaghetti Western. Well actually, you should probably dive in there as well, as Inglourious Basterds is a homage to both (and more). The reason I’m writing this is, that Severin Ent. in the US has just released two centerpiece movies by …

Much hailed by the critics already, Christoph Waltz won the Golden Palm for best performance for an actor at the Cannes Film Festival today. His performance as the evil SS Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds stole the show, and the Palm goes to the – outside the German-speaking parts of Europe – previously rather unknown actor. The award underlines the consensus among reviewers, who no matter which verdict they gave the film, mostly …

You really thought we wouldn’t find a way to present you with an exclusive review of Inglourious Basterds directly from the Cannes Film Festival? Think again, my friends. Despite all odds, we dispatched the danger-man of international film criticism to another noon screening of Tarantino’s film with the task of writing the review you haven’t read yet, so behold the words of the Wise:
“On second viewing, Ingourious Basterds really holds up; it’s a slick, …

(We’ve updated this article, see paragraph below). As we’ve reported yesterday, the version of Inglourious Basterds shown at the Cannes Film Festival was missing the Maggie Cheung character and ran at a total of about 2.30. Contractually, as Variety reports, he’s allowed to deliver a two hour and 48 minutes cut, so he has enough wiggle room to put things back into the movie. Variety sais he’s supposed to go back to the editing …

Sad news for all you Maggie Cheung admirers out there. As China Daily reports, her parts in Inglourious Basterds have been cut from the final film for length reasons. Apparently Maggie was okay with it, yet us fans are truly shocked of course. At least that will be something to look forward to on a DVD at some point maybe. She said “[QT] called me from Cannes to explain that my scenes had to …

Just to give you a few impressions, here’s a few things you can look at: a) Pictures from the premiere red carpet event, see Tarantino dance! b) Part 1 and 2 of the press conference (some pictures) c) another feature on the premiere with the red carpet arrivals and Quentin Tarantino‘s crazy dance! While I’m sitting here waiting for it to start raining, people in Cannes are probably half way through the first minutes of Inglourious Basterds already soaking up that good ol’ Morricone. But for you and me, there’s a new clip with an introduction by Quentin at Yahoo Movies (yeah that sucks I know, someone put it on Youtube or Vimeo please, in HD!) showing the rescure of Hugo Stiglitz from a Nazi jail. Also, …

Cannes is happening, my fellow Tarantinoites (or Tarantinophiles, in LeMonde’s words). There are three new clips from the movie up at movieweb.com that give a better impression of a) Brad’s accent and personality b) Diane Kruger’s hot french accent, c) the evil that is personified in Landa and d) the use of Morricone’s L’Arena in Inglourious Basterds. Watch the three clips right here.
Also, the first two screenings have happened (the big premiere is tonight …

Suspense is increasing. Wednesday morning will be the first time Inglourious Basterds will be shown to insiders, critics and others, and Wednesday night will be the big premiere. The Hollywood Reporter, not exactly this website’s favorite source of movie news by the way (but neither is Variety), scored a pretty nice interview with our auteur where he talks a bit about the movie and what it means to him, and how Cannes is such …
