There has been considerable speculation already, as several industry bloggers have mused that as part of a wider oscar strategy and in order to take in the holiday business, Inglourious Basterds will come out on home video in time for christmas. Now in the forum of an announcement on one of the Basterds’ official Facebook pages, comes the news that in the UK, Quentin’s box office rousing epic will hit the DVD and BluRay …

Inglourious Basterds, remember that one? Yeah the movie that’s still making close to a million at the box office every day. Reportedly, the US free-tv rights just went to TNT (the pay-tv rights are with Showtime) for about $15 million. Despite all that, the Weinstein Company seems bound to consolidate their business, more lay-offs ahead. Time to make a sequel/prequel, Quentin :)
Basterds will also open the Morelia Film Festival in Mexico, and it’s yet …

I’m not sure how much Pulp Fiction has really made in terms of dollars, considering the years of TV runs, home video exploits and theatrical special screenings and so on and so forth, but Inglourious Basterds is now officially Quentin Tarantino‘s highest grossing movie ever, if you compare the initial theatrical box office numbers (cf. Boxofficemojo). The numbers are truly impressive and champagne corks must be a-poppin’ in the casa de Tarantino these days, …

A second weekend in a row Inglourious Basterds kept on scalping. Especially on international box offices it did quite well. It entered at the top in many European markets and stayed there in others, raising it’s international total (Reuters) while pulling in another $20 million Stateside (BOM), you can keep track of some numbers at Box Office Mojo’s Basterds pages. But let me take a step back and look at some of the media …

According to BoxOfficeMojo, Inglourious Basterds is officially “the highest-grossing opening ever for a movie released in the second half of August”, with close to $40 million domestically (including Canada). In a very interesting article in the LA Times, which you should read, one passage was especially interesting to me, as you may know this website is based in Germany, where it says:
In a particularly surprising twist, however, there was much higher than usual demand …

Now that Inglourious Basterds successfully rocked the opening weekend (see my previous post here with lots of links and numbers) (see NYT), I’m curious how the movie will continue to do over the weeks ahead. Here’s a nice article with Melanie Laurent, and here’s another interview with Quentin. …

Inglourious Basterds is here (opening in the US friday, in Germany tomorrow, in France today), and oh boy will it be Inglourious to see it again. Must have been one hell of a premiere, even though personally I think nothing could beat the Berlin premiere. Tuesday night was the Hollywood premiere of Inglourious Basterds, and we were live on location – via twitter – as much as we could. They had a huge red carpet rolled out in front of the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. and fans got to see the entire cast, Brangelina included (an article at examiner.com), …

After Cannes, Berlin, Stockholm and Melbourne – Hollywood, California. The Basterds are returning from their quick but inglourious world tour to the city of angels for a premiere unlike anything you’ve seen before. Not only because this nominally-Hollywood movie is not really so much a Hollywood movie, but also because this is the first premiere – to my knowledge – that will take place on the web – with you in the front seats. …

You can’t keep those Basterds down, that’s for sure. Those Inglourious dudes actually went on a rampage to destroy all kinds of things in a new photo shoot for Esquire magazine, a video which you can see here. I’m guessing most of the pictures will be in their next Style issue. One of the side products is an interview with BJ Novak which you can read right here. Next up there’s a nice interview …

Who saw that coming? In the past we’ve posted some exclusive pictures of “Stolz der Nation” (Nation’s Pride), the Eli Roth-directed movie-in-the-movie that is somehow starring in Inglourious Basterds. Today a trailer hit the net that, even though it looks a bit “modern”, it shows some good footage of the propaganda flick. Click here to see the pictures we’ve posted in the past and find out more about it, or precede to Apple.com to …

While I’m still digesting the amazing experience the Berlin premiere of Inglourious Basterds has been, I have not been idle. The following is an excerpt from my opening paragraph of a review of Inglourious Basterds, click the link below to finish reading the entire text. I’ve tried to keep spoilers to a minimum but depending on how much you already know about the film, be warned, there are minor spoilers included. Some say Tarantino’s …

“Dankeschoen!” he said, visibly moved, after several minutes of applause. A Basterd’s work well done, I thought, when the lights went on and Quentin Tarantino had just ended the second world war – on celluloid.
Fast forward two or so hours earlier. The Berlin premiere of Inglourious Basterds, probably the movie’s biggest worldwide (aside from the one in Cannes a few weeks ago) was one hell of an event. Fans had lined up outside the …

Only months after the shooting of Inglourious Basterds wrapped earlier this year in the Potsdam suburbs of Berlin (at the historic Babelsberg Film Studios), the Basterds are back in town. But this time, they have come not to work five days a week, but to celebrate and enjoy the miracles of cinema. Quentin Tarantino, with an entourage consisting of the main actors, will host the Germany premiere of his latest work of art tonight …

Inglorious they are. Last nights UK premiere at Leicester square in London must have been a blast. Empire magazine has some footage from the red carpet (click here). Lawrence Bender says “this ain’t your daddy’s WW2 movie”, damn right that. Harry Knowles of AICN twittered a few days ago that the final cut “flies”, and he mentioned the music especially. Quentin Tarantino was at HMV the day before the premiere and signed limited editions …
