Inglourious Basterds (read 10 facts about the films here) winning big at the Academy Awards is still little over a week away (read here why it will win), but Monsieur Tarantino is making some space on his bookshelf for the little Oscar fella (even though in an interview he says he things Ms Bigelow should win the best director award), I’m very sure. Christoph Waltz has so many awards for his role as Hans …

As we’re deep into the Oscars season, speculation heats about about Inglourious Basterds‘ chances of taking home one or more of the shiny little golden oscar statues. The Academy has increased the number of nominees from 5 to 10, which makes things a little more complicated, and absent a blockbuster that would unanimously be considered “the thing” (think a movie along the lines of Forrest Gump, which snatched it from Pulp Fiction in ’95, …

That’s a bingo! Ladies and gents, the year is coming to an end faster than some poor Nazi that you would put in front of the Bear Jew. It’s December dear readers and as if Inglourious Basterds only came out yesterday, there’s tons of shit to check out. I’ll run through the goodies with you really quick to get to the main topic of today’s discussion, which is the release of that movie on …

To make this really quick, Inglourious Basterds will hit BluRay and DVD (as stated a few times already) before christmas (and after christmas in some countries). We have started compiling a list of all BluRay releases and a separate list of all DVD releases. Please note that these lists are still subject to change, as various Amazons correct the cover image and different version they get from the distributors. The movie will mostly be …

Basterds is still making money like crazy (Source: ABC) and it’s still keeping columnists busy (this one: click; still gets the name wrong and some other things, but it’s a good read). At the same time, the BluRay and DVD release definitely seems to be going down before christmas (Source), so we are now trying to keep our Basterds DVD and BluRay overview page updated as much as possible. Stay tuned!
UPDATE: Yes, to the …

Just when I tried to calm things down in me previous post, which some might’ve considered as some sort of a rant against those Kill Bill Vol3 stories, more “new Tarantino movie” rumors are popping up. By way of our friend Rama at Rama’s Screen (a movie blog you can’t not read daily!), we heard that Quentin mentioned to Variety, that whatever he does between now and Kill Bill Volume 3 (if he does …

There has been considerable speculation already, as several industry bloggers have mused that as part of a wider oscar strategy and in order to take in the holiday business, Inglourious Basterds will come out on home video in time for christmas. Now in the forum of an announcement on one of the Basterds’ official Facebook pages, comes the news that in the UK, Quentin’s box office rousing epic will hit the DVD and BluRay …

While the majority of Tarantino fans are probably waiting for Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair to hit DVD shelves this August for synergy effects related to the theatrical release of Inglourious Basterds, it seems like that fortune is reserved for Grindhouse. Press releases seem to indicate, according to BD News, that Genius Products, the WeinsteinCo’s home video distribution arm, is set to release Grindhouse on a 2-disc BluRay set on August 11. No …

So apparently Sin City, which already kicked loads of ass on the Unrated/Recut DVD edition, kicks even more ass in gorgeous BluRay high-definition. If you’re out looking for ways to feed your BluRay appetite, take a look at THIS review and tell me if that doesn’t sound great. Not only does it come with all the goodies you’ve seen on the DVD, it comes with a few additional extras and of course the movie …

Hello out there, high-def owners. While we’re trying to keep our BluRay overview page up-to-date (help us out in case we’re missing something, send us your reviews if you own some discs), High-Def Digest reports that Disney has moved the BluRay Disc releases of Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction up to August 4 this year. Are they doing that because Inglourious Basterds will hit theaters 2 weeks later? We think so. Anyways, stay tuned …

It’s been a bit quiet around Robert Rodriguez lately, aside from the odd rumors about the numerous projects he might be heading, from Sin City 2 to a possible Machete movie. You better be on the safe side and get your daily fix of RR on home video. One of the greatest DVDs of his movies was of course the Unrated&Recut Box set of Sin City, which will now arrive on BluRay for those …

I have to say I do not personally own high definition equipment, currently I don’t even own a TV or DVD player. But one thing that has puzzled me these past few months is how much love Death Proof got from BluRay Disc reviewers. When reviewing DVDs or BluRay of course the main aspect is the disc quality, extras and such like, and the movie is only part of the final verdict, but still, …

The Loonies seem to be the first people who get a decent quality release of From Dusk Till Dawn on home video. A re-release of this classic vampire-slasher has been announced for the US for this christmas, but the Canadians, well they just couldn’t wait. DVDActive, one of our favorite DVD websites out there, has a first review of the Canadian BluRay release. The bottom line of their review is that this, while not …

Just a short heads up for you home video lovers out there. Sad news first: the announced German DVD of Grindhouse has been postponed until 2009, indicating a possible simultaneous worldwide release instead. Hardcore fans will thus have to stick with the overpriced Japanese box with the inferior transfer. I also got the Swedish Hell Ride DVD in the mail today. More sad news for all you importers: there are no extras on that …

One week until the BluRay releases of both Kill Bill volumes hit American shelves (I guess you can no longer call them DVD shelves, but then again, I’m one of those unlucky individuals unable to afford even an old-fashioned TV these days, not to mention anything HD, but nevermind), and I’m reading a pre-release review of the two discs by a blogger who’s everything else but not a fan of these two movies, nevertheless, …

Rumor has it, that Robert Rodriguez‘ ultra-violent and ubercool graphic novel adaptation Sin City will hit Blu Ray disc this winter, and what excites me personally, is that word around the campfire is that From Dusk Till Dawn is also up for some high definition pimping. I was long of the opinion that Dusk is way overdue for a proper re-release even on DVD, as the current one available for purchase is a non-anamorphic …
