Rumor debunked! Quentin Tarantino to remake The Shadow?

UPDATE: As the US west coast is having its morning coffee, probably surfing the interwebs for clarification on this, we as we are wrapping up Thursday already here in Europe, are happy to confirm that the rumors are completely false. Oh boy, is it rumor time again? If you’re a regular reader of The Quentin Tarantino Archives, you’ll know we’re not the biggest fans of rumors, especially when they come out of nowhere. But nonetheless, you have a right to be informed, and who knows… maybe there’s some truth to the rumors in the end…

We’ve first read it at our friend Rama’s Screen, that Quentin might be in talks to direct and co-write a new adaptation of The Shadow. In fact, there has been an adaptation before, with Alec Baldwin, in 1994. Some say that movie isn’t all that bad, we haven’t seen it. Have you? Comment below! At any rate, it seems like the project to adapt this graphic novel / comic book classic has changed studios, and director Sam Raimi is no longer attached to it. As Paijaba.com reports, there are discussions with QT about directing and even co-writing the flick now, at Fox. Their source may have a good track record, as they claim, but at this point none of this has been either confirmed or denied, so consider this with a pinch of salt. Of course, as soon as we hear anything that might clarify these rumors, you’ll read it here, and on our Facebook Page, along with everything else, from a diddle eyed joe, to a damned if I know….. Dismissed, ladies and gents.

Grindhouse on BluRay October 5

I love you, Slashfilm. They just ran a story on what might cause joy and excitement in the fan community. Edgar Wright, director of the fake trailer “Don’t” which was featured in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s GRINDHOUSE, sent out a tweet today that might be the most conclusive evidence for a planned home video release of the double feature yet.

So, get this, tomorrow I am doing a commentary on ‘Don’t’. Some of you will know what that means is finally happening.

A less-than-140-characters-way of saying Grindhouse is eventually coming to your home cinema soon? We think so. Robert Rodriguez is seeing two of his projects hitting the big screen this year, Predators (a reboot of the franchise based on an original treatment of his, but directed by Nimrod Antal) and Machete, itself one of the fake trailers from Grindhouse, but now developed into a feature film. It might well be that to use synergy effects, Weinsteins want to finally release it. To refresh your memory, Japan is the only country we are aware of that saw an official release of Death Proof and Planet Terror in their Grindhouse theatrical release form on DVD. A similar release in Germany was canceled. We’ll keep you posted of course. Don’t forget to join us on Facebook.

The Tarantino Archives Revamps Facebook Outlet

The Quentin Tarantino Archives (QTA), which dates back to 1999, has grown into a network of awesome underground movie websites over the last few years. Held together by the Triple Feature Foundation (3FF) – which is in search for funding by the way so donate a few bucks if you want – under its CineCoalition umbrella, the sister websites that have joined the QTA are The Spaghetti Western Database (Quentin’s favorite website “aside from porn“), The Deuce: Grindhouse Cinema Database and Pistolero – The Robert Rodriguez Fansite. What do all these sites have in common aside from being inspired by Quentin? Exactly, they all had so-called Facebook Pages in addition to their Twitter, YouTube and other social media outlets. The QTA has now done the same and is phasing out its insufficiently interactive Facebook group in favor of a new “page”, which also boasts a spankin’ new logo designed by Alexander Fischer, and once we’ve hit the 1.000 “fan” mark, we’ll host a Tarantino-themed t-shirt giveaway there, which we will announce here. So stop by, “like” our new page (that’s how Facebook calls it now) and join Tarantino fans worldwide exchanging about the latest gossip – and of course discover the CineCoalition’s websites and their Twitter and Facebook outlets. Tabloids claim Tarantino plans Dracula movie

This came out of nowhere. Apparently Quentin Tarantino plans a short stay in Vienna, Austria and has planned trips to several castles in the surrounding area (source / source), supposedly location scouting for a Dracula movie. Now we’re not very sure what to make of this. For one, visiting castles is a very normal thing to do when you’re in Austria (or for that matter, anywhere else in Europe). Secondly, who says that is for a Dracula movie? It could really be for anything, from Inglourious Basterds 2 to Cinderella – or simply tourism. We’ll try to keep you posted on this :) And watch out at night, keep a cross, garlic juice and a dagger handy….

Rock star Quentin Tarantino to head Venice festival jury

According to AP, Quentin Tarantino will head the jury of this year’s Venice Film Festival, which regularly awards the Golden Lion. The 67th “Biennale” will take place the first week of September. Festival Director Marco Mueller is quoted as saying Quentin was “perhaps the only American auteur to be adored world wide like a rock star”. Well we couldn’t agree more, and congrats to Quentin for heading such a prestigious festival, in the country that has brought forth so many great filmmakers that he himself and cineasts worldwide adore and cherish.

Closer look at a Basterd and Reverend

It came as no surprise to us, that none other than Bo Svenson had a cameo appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Not only was Bo Svenson the star of Enzo Castellari‘s Inglorious Bastards, he’s also a living legend and has had a cameo appearance in Kill Bill as Reverend Harmony. We talked to Bo a few years back (read our interview here) and over the years I from time to time tried to get some information from him regarding Quentin’s project, of which there was none. But then, let’s just call this Quentin’s ace up his sleeve, because not only was this a very cool idea for a cameo, it was also almost a must. Bo Svenson in Inglourious Basterds was great, and there’s more of him on the special edition DVD or the BluRay. And now let me just do a short movie trivia on why I think his cameo was particularly awesome: Bo Svenson was in the original Inglorious Bastards, which Tarantino is a fan of (and really who isn’t). Bo Svenson also starred in the Walking Tall TV show. Both Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Walking Tall feature characters with a baseball bat (really the Walking Tall signature prop, see the DVD cover to the right) or 2×4. Bo Svenson is sort of like the connecting element between Castellari’s and Tarantino’s visions of the Macaroni Combat movie, spiced up with a touch of Walking Tall, personified by Eli Roth‘s Bear Jew character. Even better that Enzo Castellari also has a short cameo appearance in the film. Tarantino’s the man, I would’ve done exactly the same thing, and in a way don’t we all play “X degrees of separation” movie trivia games all the time? Oh yeah, and he played the reverend in Kill Bill, awesome. And here’s Bo Svenson, guest-starring in Stolz der Nation:

The Tarantino World is vast

Yeah we know there are stories out there about how Quentin wants to make a RomCom, but there are always stories out there about what it is that Quentin wants to make (supposedly or not only Quentin knows). Here at the QTA, we let the facts speak, and so we’re not writing about any of it. And we all know he’ll not be in the Smurfs, that’s just BS. Same goes for that Lady GaGa rumor (most likely). So since it’s a slow saturday, let me just share some interesting links with you on the Tarantino front:

Q is now a honorary Texan, you can read up on it and check out his acceptance speech (link). Jumping back to the Oscars a bit, there’s Quentin on the carpet (link w/ video), and a report on the pre-Oscar party at his house where he was DJing (link), and a report with pictures of the Basterds celebrating (link). There’s a nice little story about a Bollywood celebrity and his encounter with Quentin (link).

On a different note, let me say how the last few years changed the way a fan site like this one works. The community has shifted in large parts away from traditional message boards (such as the one we have and encourage you to join) to more “social media” forms like Facebook (here’s our FB group) or Twitter (here’s our Twitter feed). This has meant more diversification, faster disemination of news (we don’t write a blog post any more for each little link we find or hear about) and more decentralization (count all the QT-related pages, feeds, and whatever). This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. In fact, you can now comment on all our news posts, you can still join the forums, our FB group, our Twitter feed, our Hell Ride fan page (which is currently in a race about how many fans it can get with our Inglourious Basterds fan page) or help us working on The Archives. Lots of things happening, we’re a huge community, just a little more spread out compared to a few years ago. Make sure to subscribe to us by RSS, by the way. So you don’t miss out on our news posts.

On a sidenote, not sure if all of you heard, but we launched a new website called PISTOLERO, which is a news blog and community about Robert Rodriguez‘ movies, so make sure you check that out at www.robert-rodriguez.info (and there’s also a Twitter feed @RodriguezNews and a Facebook fan page you should join).

An Oscar for the Jew Hunter

What an evening. Hopes were high, excitement big. Inglourious Basterds was nominated for 8 Academy Awards, and each of them well deserved. The evening started out with no surprise neither: Christoph Waltz took home the golden statuette for his role as Col Hans Landa of the SS. A great speech. But the rest of the evening was a series of disappointments, when it turned out that Christoph’s would be the only Oscar the Basterds team would be taking home.

Who’s a Basterd?

Inglourious Basterds (read 10 facts about the films here) winning big at the Academy Awards is still little over a week away (read here why it will win), but Monsieur Tarantino is making some space on his bookshelf for the little Oscar fella (even though in an interview he says he things Ms Bigelow should win the best director award), I’m very sure. Christoph Waltz has so many awards for his role as Hans Landa already, that he lets his daughter build little houses with it (see video on Letterman). But let me give you a rundown on QT news, I’ve been a bit sloppy lately on updates. I’m starting to think a micro-blog type news page here would be more fitting, but then again, maybe after the Oscars we can go a bit back to normal here at the Tarantino Archives and then I will have some time to beef up PISTOLERO (www.robert-rodriguez.info), our new sister project. So here we go. The Vancouver Sun has a piece up on what QT said on the Directors on Directing panel a few weeks back (read here). The Guardian talks about how Basterds (which also won the NME awards last week) freed Quentin, and that A SOUTHERN might be his next project (read here). Moviefone calls Basterds the Dark Horse at the awards (read here). Quentin was giving away Basterds posters for Haiti relief (read more here).

A Good Month to be a Tarantino Fan

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if Quentin Tarantino directed the Super Bowl (which the Saints so glouriously won yesterday; for the record: The Who rocked the fucking house)? Probably not! But still, check out this video (link).

If you’re in Hollywood, always be on the look out for really nice stuff like this down at the Egyptian theater…

The Oscar nominations have been announced, and Inglourious Basterds got 8 Academy Award nominations! Congratulations you Basterds! And the nominees are…. Best Picture; Best Director (QT); Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz); Best Original Screenplay; Best Sound Editing (Wylie Stateman); Best Sound Mixing (Michael Minkler, Tony Lamberti and Mark Ulano); Best Cinematography (Robert Richardson); Best Film Editing (Sally Menke)! SAG Awards and Hellen Mirren for Quentin?

We’re not sure where this rumor came from just now, but it’s all over the net and it sais Quentin wants Hellen Mirren (remember herr in Caligula?) to star in a movie of his. I have zero ideas what that might be (via MC). But on to more factual news. Inglourious Basterds took home two SAG (Screen Actor’s Guild) awards last night, one goes to – whoe else – Chris Waltz for outstanding supporting actor (video), and the other to the best ensemble cast! (via RAMA). Click here to watch the cast accept the award and George Clooney make some random dirty jokes about the Golden Girls. In entirely unrelated news, Quentin updated his list of favorites of 2009 (source), if you followed that. But what’s really sick, and I have no clue why one would buy that or who, there will be a line of collectible toy figures of the Basterds and they’re starting out with Aldo Raine (click here). These things look expensive :) And because it’s videoclip day, head over to the LA Times for the director’s roundtable where Quentin and his competitors for the Oscars spill their career defining moments (Click here). But what should really knock you off your socks is when Mr Tarantino was on Conan O’Brien last night (by the way what’s all this I’m with Coco on Facebook, I’m totally out of the loop it seems), and where he proposed a hilarious revenge story to him and then they go on strangling. Basterds take home only one Golden Globe

But it goes to the Jewhunter. Christoph Walz continues his amazing series of awards and takes home the trophy. Basterds lost out in the director, movie and screenplay categories. We think Avatar should have only allowed to compete in the animated film category. Yes the lines are blurred as technology advances, but as impressive and entertaining Avatar was, with that amount of money and that technology, it’s pretty much not surprising or exceptional. There’s no category the movie can fairly compete. Inglourious Basterds versus Avatar, not a very even battle. Quentin Tarantino gegen die Nazis – eine Buchkritik

Auszug der Rezension: George Seeßlen ist ein mit-Autor des wohl Tarantino Standardwerks (deutscher Sprache wohlgemerkt), das schon mehrere Neuauflagen hinter sich hat, und im Moment vergriffen ist. Mit “QT gegen die Nazis” wagt er einen Taschenbuch-Rundumschlag. “Alles über Inglourious Basterds” verspricht das Büchlein, das fast zeitgleich mit dem Film in die deutschen Kinos kommt. Quentin Tarantinos lange erwartetes Werk das im Zweiten Weltkrieg spielt (aber nicht von ihm handelt), ist wie alle anderen Filme Tarantinos, eine Schatzgrube für Filmkenner. Seeßlen beginnt sein Buch mit einer langen Erklärung, was mit dem 2. Weltkriegs Film allgemein falsch ist, und wo Inglourious Basterds ins Spiel kommt. “Ein heftiges Rumoren” nennt er den Film, ein “verfilmtes Gespräch über Kino-Klischees und ihre Wirkungen, gelegentlich auch über das Kino selber und das, was es abbilden kann. Nicht mehr. Und eben auch auch nicht weniger.”

In seinem ersten Kapitel widmet sich der Autor teils Tarantinos Hintergrund sowie der Entwicklung des Films und den Einflüssen. Die zum Teil sehr tiefgründigen und smarten Analysen und Verknüpfungen machen einen guten Eindruck, aber schon hier muss man als Tarantino Kenner feststellen dass es sich um eine sehr hastige und nicht ausreichend fundiertes Resumee der Basterds Historie handelt. Da verlaufen einige Argumente etwas im Sand, es wird erwähnt dass Tarantino von Morricone als Komponist ausging (was Tarantino unter anderem in einem Interview mit mir korrigiert hat) oder von mehreren Ländern als Drehort gesprochen, wo doch außer 2 Tagen nur in Deutschland gedreht wurde. Auch springt der Autor dann relativ schnell von den 90ern nach Cannes diesen Jahres, da geht jede Menge wichtige Entstehungsgeschichte verloren.

Recently, I’ve come to realize that unless I post a tiny news entry about everything that comes into my inbox, I end up with posts like this one. But I can’t help it, a blog isn’t a Twitter feed. Check out this article where Tarantino talks about violence (article), this one where he wants to be like Howard Hawks (article), or this one where he talks about Vinnie Jones who is with Celebrity Big Brother (Link).

In other news, there’s a new soundtrack release (King of Blue records official website), click here to check it out on Amazon (pre-ordering or buying it with this link supports this website). It’s a compilation of Morricone tracks used by Quentin in three of his movies. Seems decent. Haven’t had a press copy to test it yet, however.

While I was reading a Basterds at Critics Choice piece (article), I realized I’m a bit late in processing the news, because whoah, the movie conquered three of those little awards already (via MTV)! The piece is an absolute must read, as Damon not only just sketches how QT’s appearance in London went down, but the article actually paints a super cool and swift stroke of Tarantino’s career. Speaking of career, the Oscars are getting closer and the LA Times has another piece and interview, so head over there and check out Tarantino talking about Basterds (LA Times article). Basterdized Happy New Year

Inglourious Basterds is being talked up more and more as THE oscar contender (source and here), and the LA Times seems to be on a real campaign to convince the readers of that (here and here). My prediction is that the movie will win a few awards, I’m just not sure if it will be that of the best picture. I do think it’s the best picture of the year (even though I’ve hardly seen even a chunk of all the movies that have been released this year), but I’m not sure if it’s what the oscar jury would award the little fella to, and part of me wishes Quentin would get it for something even bigger, haha. But we’ll see. The Online Film Critic Society has Basterds leading with no less than 8 nominations (source). But there’s more…. “[Quentin] Tarantino will receive the Sonny Bono Visionary Award for being “one of the most gifted, iconoclastic filmmakers of his generation,” according to fest chairman Harold Matzner.” writes Variety about the Palm Springs Film Festival, more about the event here. And last but not least, QT will be awarded the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Cinema, on February 18 in London (via NYT), Inglourious Basterds rocked in Phoenix (source), and there’s a really nice and short interview with Quentin, embedded below (via THR / Joblo.com)

Christmas Basterds News Ambush

So it’s almost christmas, you Inglourious Basterds out there, and this glourious year is coming to an end. I’ve been a bit slow in my news posting, so here’s another round-up of things that happened since the last one. This will be the last post before the new year probably, so make sure you follow us closely on Twitter (www.twitter.com/QTArchives) as I will update that more regularly than the Frontpage here. Also join our Community and check out our Facebook group. Nothing beats nice chats with fellow Tarantino fans on a merry christmas evening with your computer on your lap under the christmas tree, right?

Cool things first! Via our friend Rama I hear that our man Quentin Tarantino spoke to Vulture mag about what might be coming next. That’s pretty exciting stuff. He sais he already wrote about 40 pages of a Basterds sequel, but that something smaller would be first, and in a totally different genre. That gets me excited because that’s something I really would like to see.
Some time ago Quentin (who received the London film critics’ highest honor recently) presented the achievement award at the Academy’s Governor’s awards show to legendary filmmaker Roger Corman, and you can now see Quentin’s marvellous speech at their website oscars.org in two parts: One | Two

Basterds rakes in awards and 4 Globes nominations!

The Weinstein Company rocked the Golden Globe Awards with no less than 12 nominations (Variety), four of them for Inglourious Basterds, including best movie, best director, best screenplay and best supporting actor (you know who). Additionally, the already mentioned 10 nominations at the Critic’s Choice awards (see Guardian), with best picture, best supporting Waltz, best ensemble, best director, best screenplay, best cinematography (Robert Richardson), best art direction, editing (Sally Menke) and costume design. And best action movie on top of that (full list)! And then it killed at the NY Online Critics Award, too, winning best supporting actor and breakthrough performance (Christoph Waltz again), best screenplay and best cinematography! Wow. That’s a Bingo!

Also last night marked the DVD/BluRay release party of Inglourious Basterds at the New Beverly Theater in Hollywood (article). And Quentin spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about what his favorite flicks of 2009 are (link). So how’s that?

Closer to Oscars, Basterds collects

As we’re deep into the Oscars season, speculation heats about about Inglourious Basterds‘ chances of taking home one or more of the shiny little golden oscar statues. The Academy has increased the number of nominees from 5 to 10, which makes things a little more complicated, and absent a blockbuster that would unanimously be considered “the thing” (think a movie along the lines of Forrest Gump, which snatched it from Pulp Fiction in ’95, a well made family movie, drama and epic, something oscar jurors don’t have to think twice about), the race will be mightly close.

What seems to be a no-brainer is that Christoph Waltz will probably add an Oscar to his already impressive array of best supporting actor awards, also Germain of the Chronicle seems to think so, even though he doesn’t award Basterds a big shot at the main trophy. Just this weekend, Basterds picked up some more nominations (10!!) at the Critics Choise Awards (read here).

Oh and head over to MTV’s article here about Tarantino’s reaction to Basterds success and why there won’t be anything like an extended cut on DVD. Speaking of DVD, make sure you order your Basterds DVD/BluRay in time for christmas (click here for our last article on that).

That’s a bingo! Ladies and gents, the year is coming to an end faster than some poor Nazi that you would put in front of the Bear Jew. It’s December dear readers and as if Inglourious Basterds only came out yesterday, there’s tons of shit to check out. I’ll run through the goodies with you really quick to get to the main topic of today’s discussion, which is the release of that movie on home video at least in some countries.

First up, when Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino went to Japan, they went on some really crazy cooking show, and you can check out the whole thing on video. Quentin’s been on the show before, which you can also see. Click here to check it out.
According to MTV (read), Tarantino was offered to direct The Green Lantern (at a very early stage), but according to the interview, that came at the wrong point in his career, and declined.
The annual Emmy awards will be handed out on January 31st next year, and guess what’s nominated in the category of “Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media”? That’s right, the Inglourious Basterds soundtrack! Time to get it if you don’t own it yet!
Also on MTV, Quentin talked a bit about Kill Bill Volume 3 and that it might if at all be about a movie away and not be called that. So chill out everyone :) And on that note MTV has another article as well.
Inglourious Basterds will be screened at the New Beverly theater in LA soon, in a double bill with The Dirty Dozen, and cast and crew will attend! This limited event will be hard to get into, but try this place to win tickets.

Okay so shall we get down to business? There was a DVD release party this week in Hollywood (article) and many of you lucky readers probably already own the DVD or BluRay of Inglourious Basterds. It will be tough for us to give you a good overview of all the different editions available world wide (we’re trying here for DVD and here for BluRay, but we need your help, so email us with info), but depending on where you are, best bet is to get the Special Edition of some sort, and go for the heavily packaged version (check out the limited German one!) if you have more money at your disposal. It is already getting excellent reviews (e.g. here and here) and we’re trying to have at least one available for you to win sometimes the next one to two weeks. And we’ll have a review ready soon as well. It’s christmas time soon so go shopping-crazy using our Amazon links.

Life keeps me busy, but here’s a little rundown in case you missed out on a few stories. Weekend Tarantino news round-up

No end in sight, my friends, Basterds is going wild in Japan. Check out this article, Tarantino returns to grind up Nazis in the Japan Times and a 3-star review in the same paper. What’s even more interesting, is Quentin’s role in a Japanese commercial for the SoftBank cellular company (Examiner). Quentin plays Uncle Tara-Chan in what is actually a commercial-series called the “White Family”. Preview clips have already surfaced on the net and can be seen for example in this article at the Hollywood Reporter. Our least-favorite newspaper The Guardian of course had to negatively rant on about this.

Some more random stuff you need to check out: By the way, how cool is this “Say TWEET again!” tee shirt? And how cool is it that Tarantino will be present at the Academy’s Governors Awards where among other things an honorary Oscar will go to Roger Corman? And how cool is this story about Chris Waltz and Sally Menke? Sally being of course Quentin’s long-time editor, who got an award for her work recently (click here to read a great interview with her!). The beautiful and smart Melanie Laurent answers some questions in a nice interview you can read here. Inglourious Basterds, papers report, might not even get released in one of Tarantino’s favorite places, the Philippines, if an industry dispute there isn’t settled (source). That of course hasn’t stopped the movie from making over 300 million dollars worldwide now, and counting! That’s a bingo! And yes, we’ve heard those stories about a Basterds sequel/prequel, but unlike most outlets, we actually read the quotes and when there’s really nothing new to report, then there just isn’t. Did you know Quentin is a fan of Echo and the Bunnymen (yeah I had no idea that band existed, either), but check it out right here. Japanese Basterds

Inglourious Basterds has finally hit Japan, and it hit hard. Here are a few pictures from the premiere. Click here also for posters. The film premiered in the capital Tokyo with Quentin Tarantino, Melanie Laurent, Julie Dreyfus and a raggedy-bearded Brad Pitt in attendance. According to Boxofficemojo.com, the movie has made quite an enormous amount of box-office box internationally, yet their tally of numbers seems far from complete. The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures are rolling out the movie on home video already in early December to harness the powers of christmas shopping and to make the movie widely available for Academy Award judges and stakeholders.

Basterds on DVD and BluRay – Tarantino at the Oscars

To make this really quick, Inglourious Basterds will hit BluRay and DVD (as stated a few times already) before christmas (and after christmas in some countries). We have started compiling a list of all BluRay releases and a separate list of all DVD releases. Please note that these lists are still subject to change, as various Amazons correct the cover image and different version they get from the distributors. The movie will mostly be available in three versions, one being a regular disc edition on DVD with only a handful of extras, the other two being the two-disc DVD and two-disc BluRay editions, with all kinds of extras (you can see them in the lists), yet in some countries that simplicity is complicated by regular editions that are available in different packaging, or with postcards and steelbooks, etc. The choice is yours, you basterds!

On a different note, Quentin Tarantino received the Kirk Douglas award (via comingsoon.net) (via santa barbara independent) this past week in Santa Barbara (the links have pictures and more information), while Basterds opens in the Philippines on Nov 4 (via Manila bulletin) and opened at the top of the box office in South Africa (via). The trades are writing about the start of the Basterds Oscar campaign (via link) and Quentin Tarantino will in fact, according to industry insiders (via link) present one of the honorary Oscars! Variety goes Tarantino and Basterds jackets!

I was surprised to see not one, not two, but three Tarantino-related entries at Variety. The first is about classic Tarantino quotes, the second is a tiny one about how lots of projects that are being tagged with Tarantino’s name never get made (or in a different way), if you ask me, not a Variety highlight. The third is about how many have tried to be Tarantino, which is a great companion piece to the link I posted a few days ago where an author talked about how Tarantino destroyed the cult film.

Inglourious Basterds in the meantime, you all know it’s announced on BluRay and DVD, continues to make money and the goodies don’t stop there. In fact, not only will be give away 2 of the original Inglourious Basterds crew jackets (from www.tarantinojacket.com) very soon, their official Facebook page also shows some behind-the-scenes video footage, so check it out, and watch this space for announcements on how you can win two of these jackets. The Basterds are coming

Basterds is still making money like crazy (Source: ABC) and it’s still keeping columnists busy (this one: click; still gets the name wrong and some other things, but it’s a good read). At the same time, the BluRay and DVD release definitely seems to be going down before christmas (Source), so we are now trying to keep our Basterds DVD and BluRay overview page updated as much as possible. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: Yes, to the right you see the bitchin’ japanese poster (click it), and according to MovieWeb, actor Christoph Waltz will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actor Award” for his performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
