To our eyes, the colors look a bit faded, maybe there’ll be a different version surfacing soon. After a 126 days of shooting, Django Unchained has wrapped and will be heading for the editing room. It has been an eventful phase of principal photography for Quentin and his crew. Production spanned locations in California (Lone Pine, Los Angeles, etc), Alabama as well as Louisiana (in and around New Orleans) and covered diverse climates from snowy mountains to humid plantation air. Considering that the production of Inglourious Basterds was a fairly studio-centric …

People around the world held their breath when our servers were taken offline last week for security reasons, and we started working nights, together with Winston Wolf, to solve the problem (he told us to chill them niggaz out, so we did!). Sparing you the nitty gritty details, we are back now – with some off the chain infastructure solution better than the one before – and we want you to know we are …

While the internet is still not over the first full Django Unchained trailer released last week (and that is a good thing), we just stumbled across what appears to be a trailer teaser put out by the international Django Unchained website. I say appears to be, because it seems to be incomplete (at only 20 seconds) and there are no company logos, movie title or anything attached. Maybe it is just to increase our …

First, an official Red Bull Django Unchained website appeared (and a Tumblr site) where Quentin Tarantino, in a grizzly beard and a Bud Spencer hat, invited talents worldwide to participate in a contest to show their skills. The main prize: Meet Quentin at San Diego ComiCon, where Django Unchained will have quite a presence from what we’ve learned. Then, the official Django Unchained Twitter account posted something about big news this week. Now, that …

Empire magazine has published some pictures from their visit of the Django Unchained set from a few weeks back. They’re quoting Jamie Foxx about his character saying “This is a love story. He’s not trying to stop slavery. He’s not trying to do anything but find the love of his life – which is like trying to find a needle in a world of haystacks.” To read the full text you’ll have to pick …

We didn’t go to Cannes, but if we had, we probably would’ve seen some roughly seven minutes of Django Unchained today, and then suffered a heart attack and died, out of coolness. The Weinstein Company screened some footage of the film, something like an extended promo trailer, to industry people and journalists, and the reactions to it are great so far.

Entertainment Weekly broke the first official still images from Quentin Tarantino‘s spaghetti-infused slavery revenge epic “southern” Django Unchained. One image shows Leonardo di Caprio as a hammer-wielding Calvin Candie, the other shows bounty hunter Dr. Schultz played by Christoph Waltz, as well as the titular Django, played by Jamie Foxx, a blend “between Shaft and Clint Eastwood”, as he describes. Django is looking to recover his wife Broomhilda (played by Kerry Washington, currently sending …

We’re not sure where that came from, but Joblo.com just posted what seems to be the Spanish teaser poster for Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming Django Unchained, which is currently filming in Louisiana and is slated for a Christmas release this December. With poster leaks the one clue that gives away its authenticity are the company logos, and in this case also the the URL www.djangodesencadenado.com which currently forwards to the Sony Pictures Spain website. That …

Last year we posted something that almost crashed our servers and caused huge ripples around the internet: Quentin Tarantino‘s list of his favorite films of 2010 (click here to read). There were some controversial choices and some omissions in the opinions of a lot of commenters, and the discussions were very active. Even earlier, during his filming of Inglourious Basterds he let us have lists of his top 20 favorite Spaghetti Westerns (click here …

Quentin Tarantino, as did friends, family and colleagues, suffered a great loss with the passing away of Sally Menke. She had been more than his editor on all his movies, she had been his right hand, and many wondered who would be able to succeed her in this role as the editor. Judging from IMDB and New York Times listings, Quentin might have found this successor in Fred Raskin (imdb), who had previously worked …

The big news of the last few days is, that Kevin Costner – as much as I would have loved to see him in it – is out (due to scheduling conflicts) of Django Unchained, which is currently in pre-production, and Kurt Russell is in talks to replace him. Quentin Tarantino also drew some additional talent to his southern. Laura Cayouette (Kill Bill, Hell Ride), Dennis Christopher (Deadwood) and  Gerald McRaney (also Deadwood) will …

I really like Kevin Costner. There is way too much bashing of this guy going around the internet (which is why I wrote an article called In Praise of Kevin Costner, read it), so I am positively surprised that Deadline reports he is in talks to play a real meanie in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming southern Django Unchained. According to Fleming, he is tapped to play Ace Woody, a really sadist SOB training slaves to …

He was Ray, he was Miami Vice, he was a kick-ass cab driver in Collateral, and an up-coming football player in Any Given Sunday. Now Quentin Tarantino has set his sights on the star to be his Django in Django Unchained. While sources report he has not signed yet, the decision was made and we can already imagine Jamie Foxx as the star of Quentin’s upcoming ‘southern’. Deadline also reports that production is slated …

Unbelievable, a news article not about Quentin Tarantino‘s new movie Django Unchained! I know you were expecting an update on the flick from the news source you trust. The thing is, there is not terribly much hard facts to report and we are not much into copying the rumors and tidbits that have been around the web already. For that, we have Twitter and Facebook and you’re totally invited to like our Facebook Page …

When you are a quarterback, and looking for someone to pass the ball to, you sometimes get hit from the side because either a team mate did not do their job right or you just got surprised. Well bazinga, as that Sheldon Cooper character from The Big Bang theory would say, I was about to hit the sack and let the couple of brewskies put me to sleep when something happened in the Tarantino …

It all happened rather quickly. First the news that his long-awaited Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will finally premiere in LA’s New Beverly Cinema this month as part of a Tarantino-programmed exploitation and classic film month. A few days earlier, he accepted the Caesar award in France (Variety, ), implying in his acceptance speech (watch video) that he’s only getting started. By the way, you need to read this blog post on Quentin’s …
