It’s not our fault you and Fraser don’t understand the concept of Inception. Since you are on this site, I take it you like Tarantino, I applaud that. You should maybe fully understand the movie before you make a judgment, if you need to ask questions people who actually use their brain have answers. I bet you don’t understand the concept at all, and will try to give us some bull plot hole. I’ve looked to see if there is plot holes, everyone on the internet that post a “plot hole” for Inception, don’t fully understand.

The Secret in Their Eyes (A great Argentinian thriller about a screwed up murder/rape case. The ending is a “HOLY SHIT!” kinda ending)

127 hours, Black Swan, Social Network, and King’s Speech should be in the top 5 in my opinion. And then I’ll agree with ya :D

I’ll have to say that Inception and 127 hours were my favorite film of 2010. I first thought social network was a better film than 127 hours but then I was more invested in 127 hours.

Toy Story 3 is overrated, by-the-book sentiment. Boring, same canned beat-by-beat Hollywood story structure, no poetry to be found, i knew exactly what it would be before i even saw it. Bland kitsch. Nowhere near the league of most of Up, all of Wal-E or even first Toy Story. Many much, much better, fresher, more vital international films seem to be missing from this list. Tarantino used to push people to see films they might not otherwise see. Oh well. He’s establishment now. Too bad. Look to Cahiers du Cinema top ten if u still care about film as an art, even though they like Toy Story 3 too. Even intellectuals can get blinded by bland sentiment, I guess.

Out of your list, I like Inception, Shutter Island, and 127 Hours. I saw The Social Network and The Expendables. I didn’t like Social Network because it was total b.s. of a movie. it was based on a book written by a tabloid reporter who wasn’t allowed into the Facebook archives, so they made up the story. The Expendables is adverted as nonstop action, but I watched an hour of it and it was just talking, talking, talking, talking, something happens, talking, talking, tal…me turning it off. It was boring, let’s just put it that way.

As for Toy Story 3, have you even seen the first two? If not, you should. You’d appreciate TS3 more if you do.

Worst animated movie of the year? I think everybody agrees it was Cars 2. (Wrong year, I know, but I have to throw that in)

I have an underdeveloped philosiphy that is…. If Quentin Tarantino says its good, then its good.
however i must admit i was suprised by Toy Story 3 being number 1, I loved toy story 3, i just didn’t think it was his style of movie, i do love the Expendables and am greatly looking foward to its sequel which will lmost certainly be superior.
Get Him To The GREEK wasnt the greatest filmk ever, but it wins points for being truely hilarious

I know this is an old post now, but to suggest that enjoying an animated film means one hasn’t “grown up” is insulting and downright ignorant. As the director Brad Bird has repeatedly emphasized, animation is a medium—NOT a genre. Animated films, such as Toy Story 3, can have an incredible amount of depth, and far more than some movies you have listed as favorites, even.

Seeing how the Academy often fails at recognizing quality animation, I admire that Tarantino has the balls to put TS3 at the very top of his list. Now, I’m not sure about the other selections, but regardless, TS3 deserves the top spot. If anything, I suggest you open your eyes to the possibilities of film: just because something is appropriate for all ages and has imaginative, animated visuals hardly means it should be exclusively for children. I may even argue that some films, such as Pixar’s Ratatouille, will be more so enjoyed by adults than by young children. If growing up means I should enjoy live-action films more than animated ones, then, frankly, I’ll remain juvenile.
