They Called him Machete

Looks like he’s back with a vengeance. Danny Trejo as Machete, the title character of the opening faux trailer from Grindhouse, will return to the big screen (or the small one if it goes straight to DVD). Variety learned that Robert Rodriguez, who seems to be attached to a dozen projects right now, including his own project Nerverackers, a Predator remake, Sin City 2 (which seems to be without a studio backer right now) and all the crazy childrens movies you can possibly imagine. Overnight Productions’ Rick Schwartz based in Austin, Texas and Aaron Kaufman are slated to produce this feature to be directed by Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez. Ethan is Rodriguez’ editor, so this sounds like a collaboration true to Robert’s money-saving directing style.
