A number of French actors have joined Quentin Tarantino‘s currently prepping WW2 epic Inglorious Basterds, but he’s not stopping there. While one of two casting events for extras was attended by hundreds of interested applicants, Tarantino adds some more local starpower to his film. As Bild, Germany’s best-selling tabloid (obviously not the most trustworthy source) reports, veteran German actor Sylvester Groth, who has already played a Nazi in a recent satire on Adolf Hitler (not quite Sylvester Stallone but a Sly nonetheless), as well as young star Jana Pallaske have joined the cast of the film, which is nearing principal photography, to start October 13th. As B.Z., another tabloid, reports, Q intends to write a role specifically for Jana. As always, we’re treating this as a rumor until we can bring you confirmation. Our Inglorious Bastards cast and credits page will keep you informed. Thanks to Daniel for the scoop. If you hear or see anything you think we should report on, please send us an email.
