DVD & BluRay updates

Just a short heads up for you home video lovers out there. Sad news first: the announced German DVD of Grindhouse has been postponed until 2009, indicating a possible simultaneous worldwide release instead. Hardcore fans will thus have to stick with the overpriced Japanese box with the inferior transfer. I also got the Swedish Hell Ride DVD in the mail today. More sad news for all you importers: there are no extras on that disc, so it’s probably not a bad thing to wait for the US release, considering the steep price of importing anything from Scandinavia. Now the good news: Reviews of Kill Bill on BluRay are almost unanimously very very positive. Some reviewers don’t like the movies, so screw them, but I have yet to read a review that does not praise the discs’ video and audio quality. So all you enthusiasts, be happy about a home video extravaganza.
