Isaac Hayes (1942-2008)
One of the greatest musicians and composers (for both on and off screen) has passed away. Isaac Hayes, famous for (in a long and rich career) among other things the Shaft soundtrack, reportedly died today in his home in Memphis, TN. Hayes was a hero at Stax Records, an Oscar-winning composer (Shaft), a cool actor (Truck Turner is a Tarantino favorite) and a famous voice (South Park). He will be missed. Tarantino fans will remember his music, as soundtrack themes from the blaxploitation classics Truck Turner and Three Tough Guys were revived in Kill Bill.
