Grind House exclusive coverage continues: Mary Elizabeth Winstead interview

As promised, although delayed, we are continuing our series of Grindhouse interviews. This weekend, enjoy reading through our exclusive interview with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Currently in theaters as John McClane’s daughter in Live Free or Die Hard, she actually plays another actress, Lee, in Death Proof…..

I was actually becoming a big fan of grindhouse by the time this movie came to me because I had spent a lot of time in Austin, Texas where my boyfriend is from, and I would visit him every month there, and one of the things we would do, is go to the Alamo Drafthouse, which is this really cool theater, and we’d go into midnight showings, see these awesome exploitation movies. This was unlike any other experience, because the place is packed, and people are clapping and laughing and yelling at the screen, it’s just more fun than anything else you would usually do on a friday night. So I was a big fan of this kind of movies before I actually became a part of this one, so I kind of understood where they came from a little bit
